Professor Jeffrey S. Wilkinson is currently Associate Dean for Quality Assurance at Sino-U.S. College, Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai. He was an award winning broadcast news reporter before earning both his Master's and Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. He was a tenured faculty member in broadcasting at the University of Tennessee before moving to Hong Kong where he spent another ten years teaching communication courses and researching mass media in China and Hong Kong. He launched the international journalism program at United International College in Zhuhai and then served two years as acting dean for the division of humanities and social sciences. His areas of teaching and research include multi-platform journalism, news video acquisition and delivery, mobile media, and media effects. He is the lead author of Principles of Convergent Journalism and co-editor of Understanding Media Convergence, both published by Oxford University Press.
