I am a PhD candidate in the Joint Program in English and Education at the University of Michigan. I received by B.A. in English and Languages (Japanese) and my M.A. in English at the University of Alaska Anchorage. My current research interests include course management systems, digital literacies, online pedagogy, disability studies, and reading practices. My dissertation examines how writing instructors’ pedagogies and design decisions in Canvas affect the way in which students engage with it through their writing and learning.
