Awesome

Professor O'Hara is amazing at presenting the course material in a fascinating, and intriguing way, which made the class very entertaining. We had two major assignments, the first was a book report on a murder mystery set in Ancient Rome, which I found quite good, and the second was writing and giving a Cicero style speech (in English) in class, and I really enjoyed reading Cicero.

Awesome

I loved LATN 221 with Professor O'Hara. He's easily one of my favorite Latin teachers at University of North Carolina. His class really helps you improve your translation ability. He is slowly increasing the number of lines to be translated throughout the semester, which is very nice.

Average

Professor O'Hara has invested a lot and is knowledgeable about the topics discussed in this class. However, since this was a seminar-type class, we discussed our thoughts on the readings, rather than learning facts about Greek and Roman culture. I liked the readings, and there were some papers that were graded reasonably.
