    Served as an AFT-Maryland Professional Employees Council (MPEC) as a Field Coordinator. This position has three primary duties: Designing and delivering activist and leadership training and development materials and programs; Organizing and mobilizing state employees to join and participate in self-advocacy for better wages, benefits, and working conditions; and Serving as a Labor Representative. In my current role, I utilize more than 27 years of work experience to demonstrate independent management, coordination, execution, control and completion of employee-employer projects and cases. I design and develop leadership, communication, team-building, and training products for union members within the 26 state agencies covered by MPEC’s MOU. I facilitate collaboration and work effectively with human resources employee/employer relations to establish goals, compromises, and processes necessary to implement and meet labor and management strategic objectives. I demonstrate professional experience and strong background in employment law, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and grievance management. My position provides specialized expertise regarding labor management and employee relations while working closely with Managers/Supervisors and Human Resources. I serve as subject matter expert on labor and employment law, answering questions from the agencies I represent relating to the interpretation of CBAs, state and federal employment laws. I possess excellent organizational, investigative, conflict management and resolution skills with demonstrated success in resolving all labor relations matters. I am able to navigate a complex matrix environment to ensure consistent application of employment policies and practices throughout my assigned turf. On the day-to-day, I prepare and participate in meetings between labor and management to discuss and attempt to resolve issues of mutual concern on statewide and local levels.
