    This study is a critical analysis of the virtual research conducted over the last 15 years in which virtual communication played a key role. The study found that a definite pattern of criteria is being used when successful virtual communication is utilized in the workplace. This study is the first part of a two-phase research project and has identified these success criteria from current research on virtual communication in order to conduct a follow up field study. The second study will use a measurement rubric developed in this study to analyze if businesses are successfully using virtual communication or not.

My varied experience in communication aid students and staff in exploring today's technology and changing communication channels. It is in utilizing modern technology and effective leadership techniques that my area of expertise is best implemented.\n\nMy area of research covers both the fields of technology and communication. I have published my research in the Performance Improvement Quarterly

    as well as the international journals

    Semiotica and the Journal of Visual Literacy. I've written a book for Prentice Hall

    Inc. on the design of communication technologies and have articles in the Communication Teacher journal discussing the use of multimedia in business presentations. I am currently working on my own business communication book and several articles dealing with online education and virtual communication in business.
