  In 2009 I earned a Master of Arts in English from Portland State University. For the following three years I worked as a PT English/Composition Instructor at community colleges in the Portland area. I loved this experience and decided I wanted to teach on a more full-time basis

  so I decided to return to school to pursue a teaching license. For the 2012/2013 school year I student taught at Lincoln High School in Portland

  working with 9th and 12th graders. After completing the M.Ed.

  I was able to get a job at Tigard High School

  where I still am. As a first year teacher I was selected to run an alternative education (pilot) program for TTSD. The program combined credit recovery with the services of Lifeworks NW. I was English Dept. Chair for two years and I have also done some coaching with our school's soccer program (JV2

  I teach English 9 and IB Theory of Knowledge.
