Jenell is from Los Angeles, California. She is currently an Assistant Professor of English as a Second Language at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park, California. She has been teaching English Composition and ESL/EFL for more than 14 years. She has lived and taught in Japan, with a focus in academic English at the university level. She has also taught freshman composition, literature, and ESL at various colleges in Southern California and Southern Arizona. Her research interests include corrective feedback in ESL/EFL writing and classroom projects that address different learning styles.
