I am the Director of Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center at Southern Illinois University and in my spare time write hiking and biking guides for Falcon Guides. I have been working with/for educational and non-profit organizations for the past 20 years. During that time I have taught college recreation courses, developed educational programs for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, designed course and class curriculum, have created new programs like new student orientations and am currently working on a 2.5 million dollar mountain bike park project. Membership and partnership development, marketing, and project management are all skills I have honed during this time period as well.

I am a wanna be full-time adventurer and will be once I figure out how to pay bills while doing so.

      As the Director at Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center, I oversee the operations of a 3100 acre outdoor education center in Southern Illinois, manage a 1.2 million dollar budget, manage 11 professional staff, 4 graduate assistants and 50 to 60 student staff. The Center serves Southern Illinois University, the region and the nation as an outdoor laboratory for experiential learning, a field site for research, and a provider of recreation therapy, outdoor education, personal and interpersonal growth experiences and hospitality service facilities.
