    My doctorate is a degree in comparative literature between Early Modern Spain and England. The University of Louisville Comparative Humanities program provides a general survey of the humanities to all doctoral students (literature

    then gives the students flexibility to center around a specific area of study. I applied my education in Medieval Studies from previous institutions to my doctoral career

    finished the university's Graduate Certificate in Medieval and Renaissance Studies as part of my coursework

    and wrote a dissertation entitled \"Reading the Readers: Analyses of Cervantine and Shakespearean Characters as (Dys)functional Readers.\"

    but a combined experience which culminated in an immersive study abroad experience in Spain and Morocco

    I wrote my Spanish Honors Thesis entitled \"Don Juan Manuel's 'El Conde Lucanor': A Convergence of Literary and Oral Traditions in Medieval Spain.\"

  • La Casita is a non-profit organization located in Old Louisville that caters to minorities and immigrants residing within the city. Although they provide aid to anyone for whom they can interpret

    they primarily serve Hispanic immigrants. Beginning in March 2018

    I served as a volunteer interpreter of Spanish at their Wednesday afternoon

    free legal clinic

    which offered counseling in both immigration and family law.

    This Fellowship allowed me a full stipend and tuition waiver to complete my first two years of doctoral coursework at the University of Louisville. I held the Fellowship from July 2015 to June 2017

    after which my assignment as a GTA began.

    gave me a sabbatical from teaching courses at the University of Louisville
