Nixon
United States
Highly experienced law librarian and former attorney. Since 2001 I have lead in many aspects of law librarianship at both Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Areas of skill include reference services, access services, legal research, electronic resources, licensing, and digitization management. I teach both introductory and advanced legal research to law students, and provide in-person and recorded training sessions for affiliated programs and patrons. My current focus is on evaluating, recommending, implementing and maintaining access to electronic journals and books for the law school and university community. I evaluate e-resource contracts, troubleshoot issues with databases, and work collaboratively with colleagues and vendors to provide seamless access to electronic resources.

I've been a member of the CA bar since 1998. My experience includes a year of technology licensing practice in Silicon Valley.

I was recently elected to the board of the American Association of Law Libraries and I am active in the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL), currently serving on the nominations committee.

I am a proud danceaholic, mentor and food lover who also enjoys walking the American Tobacco and other area trails.
