Dr. Evans gained 15 years of human services and social work experience in diverse community based and agency settings prior to joining the field of higher education in 2000. Her intentional advocacy and commitment to social justice and inclusion began with a position at Roanoke College as the Charter Director of Multicultural Affairs. After successfully leading the College in developing inclusive programs to attract, retain and graduate a diverse student body she pursued a PhD. In Social Work which led her to her current career path in Social Work education and administration at Radford University. Since 2006, she has provided leadership to Radford University as Co-Chair of the University's Diversity and Equity Committee and President of the Administrative & Professional Faculty Senate. Within the School of Social Work she has held the position of Field Director, Extended Campus MSW Coordinator and was appointed as the MSW Program Coordinator in 2016. Dr. Evans is knowledgeable and experienced in multifacets of social work education and administration and prides herself on the effective ability to collaborate and partner with colleagues within the university system to meet the needs of the school of Social Work, our students, faculty and staff. Highlights of her academic career are enhancements to creating and sustaining diverse learning environments, student mentorship and development of students post bachelor's degree, innovative course development to include global engagement, program assessment and accreditation, strategic planning, and the development of external and internal partnerships to meet the changing needs of MSW programs.
