    In 1984, our Founder, along with concerned businessmen and women, committed to reducing functional illiteracy among the youth of our city and founded San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL).

    SAYL is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides one-to-one reading assistance to elementary children.

    In 65 schools across San Antonio, volunteers tutor children who struggle with basic reading and comprehension skills.
