Awesome

Usually I'm bad at math, but I passed Prof Kuralt's class with an A-! I was sure to be at every class, I think the people giving him bad reviews are the type that only show up half the time. If you are like that, he's not right for you. He was very nice and funny, also he gave great and informative feedback on homework, tests, and other stuff.

Biography

David
Kuralt
West Jordan, Utah
I have over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. I have worked as a teller and loan officer for America First Credit Union, and I have worked as an investments representative at Fidelity Investments. My positions with these companies have been deeply rooted in customer service and sales, and now I am looking to do something different. I would like a full-time job in Salt Lake County.

I am currently working as an adjunct instructor in mathematics at Salt Lake Community College. Since March 2013 I have taught courses in intermediate algebra, college algebra, college algebra for business, quantitative reasoning, trigonometry, and calculus. I have been trying to secure a full-time teaching position at SLCC, but the competition for these jobs is fierce. I am also looking for other jobs in higher education, and state or federal government. I am particularly interested in jobs in accounting or statistics.

Experience

  • University of Utah

    Associate Instructor, Mathematics

I taught courses in Basic Algebra (Math 950), Intermediate Algebra (Math 1010), and College Algebra (Math 1050). In addition to presenting course material to students in a classroom, I was responsible for writing the course syllabus, homework assignments, and exams. I reported course grades for students according to University guidelines.

  • Fidelity Investments

Financial Representative, Stock Plan Services Representative

From 2005 to 2007, I was a phone representative working with individual customers. I placed mutual fund, equity, and option trades myself, or I assisted the customer with placing the trades themselves online. I assisted customers who were online with opening brokerage accounts, establishing links from their brokerage accounts to their bank accounts for the movement of cash, and educating customers on account features, placing trades, and trade settlement. I answered customer questions about the tax forms sent by Fidelity, and assisted customers with cost basis recording and reporting concerns.

From 2008 to 2010, I communicated with customers via email and instant message. I performed the same functions I described above with the exception of placing buy and sell orders myself for customers.

From 2007 to 2008, I worked as a Stock Plan Services representative. Fidelity had corporate clients whose employees would call in for assistance in exercising incentive and non-qualified stock options, and enrollment in stock purchase and stock appreciation rights plans.

  • America First Credit Union

I work mainly as the branch receptionist. In addition to the usual receptionist duties, I am responsible for maintaining our branch's safe deposit box records. I ensure that all safe deposit box contracts are filled out and signed correctly, and I scan and upload these documents to TREX, which is our document imaging application. As needed, I cover for loan officers, opening new accounts, taking loan applications, and closing loans.
