I love teaching Speech Communication! My class focuses on public speaking skills as well as theories pertaining to communication in small groups, teams, conflict, interpersonal communication, intrapersonal communication and nonverbal communication. There is nothing I love more than the look of satisfaction when a student successfully completes a speech they did not think they were able to give. Creating a safe place for students to overcome their fears of getting up in front of others is one of my priorities! I believe that by actively engaging students in non-threatening games, where making a mistake is "ok", allows them to participate in learning without the fear of failure and gives them the confidence to try other forms of communication.
