Wright
Eric D. Wright is an accomplished musician and teacher with masters degrees in African Area Studies and Musical Performance. He is well-versed in American history and African American history and continues to pursue research on impact of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade on the evolution of African American cultural experience. Mr. Wright is the editor of Sankofa: Themes in the Evolution of African American Culture (Kendall-Hunt Publishing, 2010) and is currently exploring the influence of cultural memory in the evolution of African American music. He has given presentations on African American history, music, and cultural identity at Valencia College, the University of Central Florida, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, National Public Radio, and Tupperware Corporation.

Mr. Wright is well-versed in a wide array of musical styles ranging from classical music to bebop, big band, latin jazz and world music. He has performed at music festivals across the North America and Europe including the Barcelona Jazz Festival, the Red Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center Winter Festival, and Festival International de Louisiane and has appeared on the Today Show, Moesha, Sabado Gigante, and Good Morning Texas. He continues to perform and teach trumpet in Central Florida.
