At the beginning, I thought she was going to be a tough one, but she is actually a sweetheart. If you do not understand something, she's very willing to help. You'll have to ask for it though. You will get a good grade as long as you put in effort. The assessment was the only thing I hated because she wanted our own words. Other than that, she is really great!

After taking LaRocque's BFN201 online, I can say that at the end of the day she's there to help with questions. There's a good amount of work and you may need to learn some things, but she's there to help you understand.

I took Professor LaRocque's online course, however I had to meet with her several times in person due to the difficult material. I felt like she would judge me if I didn't grasp it right away, since she could only explains things one way. You have a chance at passing, however I do recommend you try to avoid her course, it is quite difficult.

I joined MCC in 2014 after spending more than 30 years in the financial services industry as a banker, financial advisor, manager and tax preparer. In addition I taught as an adjunct for various colleges and universities throughout the state since the 1980's. I hold a B.S. (Accounting) from ECSU and a M.S.T. (Taxation) from the University of Hartford.
I also hold/held many securities licenses and the professional designations of CFP® and CRPC® designations from the College of Financial Planning. I add value to the student’s education experience through my involvement with the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor society for business students, tutoring and contributing/participating in various financial literacy activities.
