Charles M.
Seigel
San Diego, California
✦ Unusually successful political, governmental affairs, and community & media relations consultant and executive with deep expertise representing controversial universities, companies, and issues. ✦

I establish new Government Affairs offices and grow smaller ones to meet companies’ ever-evolving needs and challenges. With lifelong knowledge and savvy with American and foreign political systems, I demystify complex political processes for lay people. I've had unparalleled success growing companies through government approvals and contracts in unexpected ways, leading high profile initiatives, and representing companies to all levels of stakeholders and policy makers.

Creating a company/industry presence when none existed before, and maximizing resources to further our influence and success is energizing like nothing else. Serving as press spokesperson and GA official dealing with media in controversial, urgent issues and PR crises has been part of my career since the beginning. I’ve selected, trained, and managed staffs and teams of lobbyists all around the country, often across simultaneous competing projects.

Currently consulting and sometimes serving as adjunct faculty in Political Science, most of my focus these days is on the intersection of industry, government, and academia. Completing my MPA later in my career inspired a newfound passion for higher education, and I’m especially interested in opportunities that allow me to leverage my business and government savvy for the benefit of colleges and universities.

My current home base is San Diego. When I’m not working, I’m crossing off the few remaining countries from my to-visit list; I’ve traveled to 99 countries so far on an ever-evolving quest for knowledge and cultural exchange.

Please get in touch if you want to discuss government affairs, communication, higher ed, or how to make the most of your airline miles.
