Professor Brooks tried to make this course into an issue of race baiting. He keeps saying we must look at the United Stated as an institution which allow racism. If hearing this is not your thing then I suggest, do not take this course. Fnal and essay exam is not that easy so getting a good grade is not that easy.

Good

Prof. Charles' class was pretty easy. You'll be fine as long as you listen and take notes during lectures. Lectures can be boring but are very reflective of exams. He's amazing!

Awesome

History isn't my fave subject, but Prof. Brooks made it interesting! He doesn't have powerpoint presentations, so his lectures are completely oral. You will really have to listen to get good notes. He gives final, midterm, and final paper. He's very understanding if you're struggling. Just go and talk to him. He really wants everyone to pass!

Good

Professor Brooks' class was originally in person. However, due to COVID-19 it was transitioned online. He's a great professor who truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His class consists of three tests and an essay. Definitely, it's not an easy A though. But if you struggle in class, just talk to him. This is a solid choice but not an easy one.

For someone who doesn't like history at all, Professor Brooks really brought it to life and kept me interested all the time. He required three readings and you need to write a paper about one of them during the semester. Attendance was mandatory, but he gives extra credit just for showing up. Overall, he's the best professor that I've ever had.

Professor Brooks is fantastic. His lectures aren't lectures, they're stories, which really is how you want history to be. I can say that, it's very easy to stay engaged and pay attention. The exams are directly out of the notes as well. There was a paper, but it was not that bad. There's an extra credit for attendance as well. Honestly, I don't leave reviews but he's worth it.

Professor Brooks is one of the best that I've ever taken. His lectures are like stories that make learning boring material really interesting. Attendance is mandatory. However, it's not difficult to enjoy the lesson and you will receive bonus points for having good attendance. There are no PowerPoints, just him talking, so take good notes. Overall, I'll choose him anytime.

Professor Brooks's lectures are very entertaining. But it was just him talking for an hour and fifteen minutes. I appreciated it though because his class wasn't overwhelming. He encouraged students to ask questions. Also, I really enjoyed his class and I was a student who struggled in history class. He was probably my favorite professor.

Professor Brooks was great. He's hilarious and simple. You can tell he's passionate about teaching and history. I hate history lessons, and I've never been good at them. Honestly, this is the first time I've enjoyed a history lesson. He makes his expectations very clear, but they are not unreasonable. Overall, I would take his class again.
