Awful

Professor Odell has absolutely no clue whatsoever when it comes to giving feedback on English papers. On top of that, her grading is so harsh and her assignments are almost impossible to understand. She is a nice woman but I definitely would not take her again. Try any one of the several very good English teachers that are available at Montclair. Dr. Henry MacCellon is excellent.

Awesome

Professor O'Dell is so kind, reasonable and very understanding. I signed up for her not knowing who I was getting at first, she was a TBA professor, but I'm glad I took the risk. She knows a lot about literature and always makes sure that you understand what is going on. There is one essay per three modules, and no final. She even offers extra credit. I highly recommend taking her!

Average

I didn't think that Professor O'Dell was the kindest person. However, she's a very understanding professor and gives you a lot of feedback for you to get an A. There were three papers and three drafts for each paper. The difficult part is the discussion boards that are due once a week. She asks a lot on those, but it's all manageable though.

Good

Prof. O'Dell is one of the best professors I have taken. She is really funny and let's you know that she is always there to help if you need it. She will give readings every class and believe me when I say that you have to do the readings because she is going to discuss it in the follow-up class.
