Awesome

Prof. Rote is friendly and he can make dull content in art history interesting. You will be fine as long as you study for exams.

Poor

Dr. Rote certainly knows her thing and is understanding, but she expects too much in such a short amount of time. Make sure you take notes during her lectures or when reading the recommended material on your own time. She provides study aids, but she expects you to learn a LOT of information (30-50 figures) in order to use only 7 of them on the test, which is entirely essay-based.

Good

The contemporary art class with Doctor Rote was great. She expects a lot from her students, but so do all good professors. I took her for two art history classes at Texas A&M University and I have As in both. I suggest you take notes, study, and everything will be fine.
