Experience

  • CFBU 103.7 Brock Radio

    News Content Coordinator

Creating local content, assisting in development of training material for reporters, producers and news announcers; creation and production of an ongoing news program (Niagara: Views & Voices).

  • TRIBE

    Administrative Assistant, Digitization Consultant

Digitization of archival materials, media releases and image preparation for various media / publication ventures.

  • Rodman Hall Art Centre

Coordinator / Facilitator for 5 X 2 Image Maker Visual Conversations

Presented at Mahtay Café, 241 St. Paul St., St. Catharines on the second Tuesday of the month, this is an informal discussion about art and visual culture. Based on the PechaKucha model, artists, architects, designers and other image-makers are invited to contribute to the conversation by sharing 5 images and speaking about each for 2 minutes. I facilitated this in a volunteer capacity over the Summer, and am now employed to help foster this ongoing community oriented project.

  • The Sound: Niagara's Art & Culture Newspaper

    Arts & Culture Writer

Since my return to Niagara in August of 2015, I have published in every issue of The Sound: Niagara's Arts & Culture Newspaper. These have included exhibition reviews, a year long (and ongoing) local artist feature and an ongoing series exploring the controversial changes to Brock University's relationship with Rodman Hall Arts & Culture Centre. As well, I have published pieces about the Garden City Food Co Op and several other news stories in the Niagara community.

  • Venture Niagara

Primary Writer (Connecting Niagara Through Public Art)

Over a six week period, I wrote (and did some research to facilitate) approximately fifty briefs about public art in the Niagara Region, as well as several longer pieces (the average brief was 400 - 500 words) about areas such as Lundy's Lane, various cenotaphs from NOTL to Grimbsy, and overviews of significant collections (such as the Teutloff, located at Brock University) or artists such as Rod Dowling.
This was both a time sensitive and labour intensive project, that required significant collaboration in both online and physical spaces. The project will go online in the Fall of 2017.
