I aspire to create a multimedia composition course that will present material by utilizing student-led discussions

    technology-driven writing assignments

and in-class learning communities. I will provide students with realistic applications for strong writing by encouraging innovative thinking

    self-assessment

and subject mastery. My approach to teaching composition will emphasize critical thinking and fundamental reading skills which are integral to correct writing and sound research practices. In my course

students are encouraged to improve their reading comprehension

broaden their understanding of intellectual property rights

    recognize how to avoid plagiarism

    and discriminate between satiric

    propagandistic

and credible online sources for their papers. I'll impart the rhetorical principles of logical

    ethical

and emotional appeals for construction of their essays and provide exercises on summarizing

    analyzing

and evaluating traditional and multimedia text formats. Weekly writing assignments will include informal writing responses

    in-class revisions

    formal papers

and journal submissions that adhere to a scoring criterion which evaluates writing proficiency.\n\nMy educational philosophy is shaped by my conversations with undergraduate students expressing their frustration with the lack of student interest topics in essay subjects

the deficiency of technology integration beyond the Microsoft Office suite

and the absence of innovative techniques to feature in their collegiate final essays and projects for future employers. \n\nTEACHING AREAS / COURSES PREPARED TO TEACH \nReading Skills for College \nEnglish Composition\nExpository Writing\nIntroduction to Multimedia Composition\nCreative Writing - Fiction
