    Regenerative Communities Fellow

    I worked as a Regenerative Communities Fellow at Kellogg Elementary School in Pomona, CA to advance environmental awareness and support inquiry-based learning. As a fellow I strive to empower the community of students, parents and faculty to address environmental challenges, and develop as a regenerative school and community within Pomona. Duties included providing class instruction, maintenance of school garden, and establishment of childhood mentorship programs.

    Natural Resource Management (Student Trainee)

    Assisted District Botanist with establishment and surveying of monitoring plots, of California native flora, in the Holcomb Fire Area. Assisted District Wildlife Biologist with endangered species surveying (arroyo toad). Assisted District Wildlife Biologist with nesting bird surveys to comply with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Assisted District Wildlife Biologist with field work locating and surveying mines for an upcoming study by Bat Conservation International staff. Assisted restoration staff in assigned projects, insuring that project deadlines were met. Provided restoration program support to the San Bernardino National Forest including, seed collection and cleaning, native species propagation, planting potted flora out in the forest, establishment of trail fencing, routine monitoring and maintenance of older restoration sights/plots.

    Served as lead technician tasked with testing all San Bernardino National Forest nursery facilities for Phytophthora pathogens. Improved nursery conditions and created sound recommendations for future implementations of additional best management practices (BMP's). Assisted in the enhancement of Monarch butterfly habitat as well as the monitoring of adult Monarch butterflies, egg, and larvae.
