  Through devolution

  which came into effect on April 1

  the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is taking on new responsibilities from the federal government

  including control of a portion of resource royalty revenues. This task force prepared a report recommending how to best implement the territory’s new Heritage Fund

  created in 2012

  to achieve its stated objectives for benefiting NWT citizens today and tomorrow.
