Professor Carter-Sowell is a great professor. She helps stimulate conversation and critical thinking about the topic. I read the whole textbook. Honestly, I couldn't have done the class without it. Just go to SI sessions. A lot of test questions were handed out during SI. Overall, it's an interesting class with an interesting professor.

Poor

Professor Carter-Sowell is approachable and seems nice. However, her lectures lacked quality. It was difficult to understand how much she was in her lessons because they were just rants. She provided study guides that were basically same as the test, and expected us to know the details from the textbook on the next exam, without the slightest idea of what to focus on.

Doctor Carter-Sowell is very opinionated. She won't hesitate to call you out, but she gives you a good chance to do well. The exams can be found on textbook. Some questions were word for word from the textbook too. However, her test reviews were reflective on the test questions. She will also give extra credit questions on the test. Your grade will be the tests and a paper.
