Prof. Barnes is really awesome. He can be sarcastic sometimes but he's really passionate about teaching and tries his best to make learning easy for his students. There are weekly lectures and quizzes, 4 exams (final is cumulative), and a paper where you have the freedom to choose your topic and a presentation. There is work but it's enjoyable and you will never leave the class without a new knowledge about earth.
